Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz chaired a special meeting where she approved a student merit scholarship. This scholarship will benefit 25,000 students, covering all their educational expenses for a four-year degree program. The Punjab Government has allocated a budget of PKR 100 billion for this initiative. In addition to the scholarship, cash prizes will be awarded to top students from all BISEs in Punjab, and their teachers will also receive cash rewards. Undergraduate students in all public universities and eight selected private universities are eligible to apply for this 100% merit-based scholarship.

The CM has also launched a transport scheme for female students. In the first phase, buses will be provided to 60 girls’ colleges in various districts of Punjab under the Chief Minister Transport Program. This program will later expand to cover all districts of Punjab. Additionally, an IT hub’s establishment has been approved. The CM directed that immediate steps be taken to create this IT hub and to start the laptop distribution scheme for students as soon as possible.
